Free and limitless software to streamline your systematic review screening process
Catchii is a systematic review (SR) screening tool designed to deliver an efficient and user-friendly experience when working with large datasets of scientific literature. It supports all key stages of the SR process, from duplicate detection to generating PRISMA flowcharts for publication. Screening can be performed on a computer, tablet or smartphone, allowing for flexibility whether you are in the office, at home or even on plane.
Catchii is built for speed and ease of use, helping you efficiently going through the articles. It includes all essential features expected from an SR screening tool and is available completely free of charge.
Catchii is published on Research Synthesis Methods.

Catchii is completely free, with no subscription fees, trial periods, paid upgrades or advertisements. It is a non-profit project developed for the research community and is accessible on both desktop and mobile platforms.
Systematic reviews should involve at least two reviewers. Catchii allows you to add multiple users to a review, assigning different roles such as reviewer, reviewer with rights to resolve conflicts or manager.
Catchii supports easy import of references from major databases including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and OVID (e.g. PsycINFO, MEDLINE). References can also be imported via CSV files or directly from a reference management software.
To ensure a clean dataset, Catchii includes a built-in duplicate detection tool that identifies records with highly similar titles or abstracts. Users can then review and easily remove duplicates before beginning the screening process.
Catchii supports the standard two-phase screening process: title and abstract screening followed by full-text analysis. Records can be included or excluded at each stage, with tools to resolve disagreements. Screening is also available offline, and data extraction from included articles can be performed at the final stage.
To support faster and more consistent decision-making, Catchii includes a customisable keyword highlighting feature. Keywords related to inclusion, exclusion or specific topics can be grouped and colour-coded, making it easier to scan titles and abstracts, spot relevant content and reduce screening time.
Catchii's Auto Reviewer (AI) can assist with the first screening phase, especially when a second human reviewer is unavailable or when abstracts are in unfamiliar languages. The AI provides inclusion or exclusion decisions with stated justifications.
Once screening is complete, Catchii allows export of selected records to various formats compatible with reference managers such as EndNote, Zotero or Mendeley. PDF attachments can be included, and a PRISMA flowchart is generated for use in your manuscript.
